East Chatham Little League's primary mission is to provide a Spring Recreational League.  However, ECLL also wants to provide an opportunity for more baseball and a higher-level of competitive play while maintaining participation and harmony with ECLL recreational league play.  If you are interested in forming a travel team within ECLL, please email the Board of Directors at [email protected]

Note: ECLL travel teams are independent from the recreational league and are dependent on the coach to create his/her team, obtain own sponsors, recruit own players, procure own uniforms, sign up with tournament organizations of his/her choosing, collect funds from his/her team parents to cover costs, etc.  Travel teams must adhere to the following guidelines.

Travel Team Guidelines

ECLL Travel Teams

1.      All travel teams will submit a roster to ECLL to include names and date of births for players and coaches as well as NC drivers license numbers and email addresses for coaches in order for ECLL to complete background checks.

2.      It is the responsibility of the travel teams to register with baseball tournament sanctioning bodies of their choice and at their own expense.

3.      Travel teams are responsible for covering all the costs of running their teams including all tournaments and associated direct overhead.

4.      Travel teams will coordinate practice schedules with ECLL.

5.      Travel teams will coordinate with ECLL concerning any open try-outs.

6.      If Travel team players also participate in ECLL’s recreational league, it is the responsibility of the travel coaches and travel parents to coordinate pitching logs with the recreational coaches. 

7.      "East Chatham" will be a part of each travel team name. 

8.      Travel teams will be designated a practice field and will maintain the field(s) and facilities in a manner consistent with ECLL league policies. 

9.      ECLL  All-Star teams can participate as a travel team for the remainder of the calendar year following the District & State tournaments.

10. Travel team coaches and parents are expected to adhere to Coaches and Parents Code of Ethics outlined in the ECLL website. 

Travel Team Players

1.      All players must be included on the submitted travel team roster and pay a $50 registration fee to ECLL to cover for insurance cost, facility use, and other maintenance fees.  The $50 fee is an annual fee for the period of January 1 to December 31.

2.      If travel team players elect to participate in ECLL spring season, the $50 fee is waived.

East Chatham Little League

1.      ECLL will cover travel teams under league insurance regardless if separate insurance is required to register and participate in USSSA, Top Gun, AAU, or other outside tournament organizations.   

2.      ECLL will coordinate the scheduling of all practice fields and will accommodate travel teams as best as possible after finalizing the recreational practice schedule.

3.      ECLL will provide use of the fields, lights and facilities at no additional cost to travel teams.
