Code of Ethics for Parents


East Chatham Little League
Parent's Code of Ethics

Each parent of a player participating in East Chatham Little League should provide positive support, care and encouragement for his/her child to create a positive environment for his/her child’s sports experience.  Each parent will:

Encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches and officials at every game and practice.

Place the emotional and physical well being of his/her child ahead of any personal desire to win.

Insist that his/her child play in a safe and health environment.

Support the coaches and officials working with his/her child in order to encourage a positive and enjoyable experience for all.

Demand a sports environment for his/her child that is free of drugs, tobacco and alcohol and refrain from their use at all East Chatham Little League events.

Remember that the game is for the children, not the adults.

Do his/her very best to make East Chatham Little League fun for his/her child.

Ask his/her child to treat other players, coaches, fans and officials with respect regardless of race, sex, creed or ability.

Promise to help his/her child enjoy East Chatham Little League by doing whatever he/she can, such as being a respectful fan, assisting with coaching or providing transportation.

Require that his/her child’s coach be trained in the responsibilities of being a youth sports coach and that the coach upholds the Coach’s Code of Ethics.

Review the Handbook with his/her child and do what he/she can to help implement and enforce all East Chatham Little League rules, regulations and procedures.
