Early Bird Spring 2019 Registration OPEN!

Jingle bells, kids’ cleats smell, basketball’s in play

Cold rains flood, fields are mud, but baseball’s on its way-hey!

Hi there and happiest of holidays from East Chatham Baseball Little League! While you’re busy shopping, baking and preparing for this season, baseball might seem like a long way away, but it’s right around the corner! To help us better prepare and run an even more efficient league, this year we’re offering early bird registration with special discounted pricing.

Early Bird Registration for all levels is open now!

From now until January 19, sign up at www.eastchathambaseball.com for the early bird price of $90. Early bird registration is open to all participants (see important info about 13-year-olds below), and will help the ECB Board and committee members get a better idea of how many players and teams we will have this Spring. As I’m sure you all know by now, ECB LL is an entirely volunteer-run organization with growing player participation. With player evaluations, team drafts and team selections typically done in February, our past practice of opening registration in January simply doesn’t allow us enough time to recruit and train coaches, buy uniforms, schedule games, and the myriad other things that go into running the league.

Additionally, anyone who is interested in coaching, please register and indicate your interest ASAP, so we can know our coaching needs.

We hope you will take advantage of early bird pricing, which is the same as last year’s prices plus a small processing fee our registration provider charges. After January 20, the costs will go up to $120/player plus the processing fee. Give the gift of baseball this season...and best wishes for blessed holidays to all!

**Important info for 13-year-olds:

Like last year, we are inviting 13-year-olds to play during our regular season. Due to Little League rules, they will NOT be eligible to participate in the Majors Division All-Star tournament at the end of the season.  We've chosen to stay with the same set-up as last year (playing at the Intermediate level for players aged 11-13) as we feel it gives our league the best opportunity to teach skills such as leading off, stealing, holding runners, and other skills that will aide in their development, however it does create some issues with other districts only offering the Majors 12U (12 and under) tournament at the end of the season, which excludes the the 13-year-old players. It is not our intent to exclude them, but rather we felt it was important to continue to offer a program for these 13-year-olds as they are getting ready enter middle school. While we hope to get enough talented 13-year-olds to create an All-Star team to play in the Intermediate Division All-Star tournament, many other divisions don't offer this opportunity, so teams are limited, thus limiting opportunities to have a tournament. We will update throughout the season to the status of All-Star opportunities. Thank you for your understanding.
